GameStop Announces New In-Store PS5 Restock

PlayStation 5 / August 6, 2022 / gouliatmiloud9@gmail.com / 0

GameStop has announced a new PS5 restock for the weekend, allowing for a new wave of potential current-gen console owners! It looks like PlayStation 5s are becoming more and more available as GameStop seems to be increasing the frequency of these various restocks. Whether or not that actually means anything as to whether or when they will hit store shelves and actually be able to stay there and not sell out immediately is a mystery at this time. Still, GameStop’s last PS5 restock was around a week ago, meaning the retailer is steadily getting its hands on plenty of consoles.

On Saturday, July 23, GameStop will be offering a new PlayStation 5 restock in store, allowing a new group of people to purchase the highly sought-after console. There are a few catches, however. More importantly, you must be a Power Up Rewards Pro member to purchase the console and it costs $14.99 for an annual subscription. You probably won’t be able to buy the console at the standard MSRP of $499.99 either, as GameStop is offering its stock through bundles. These bundles can start at around $700 or more, but luckily they usually include major game releases like Forbidden Horizon West, gift cards, accessories and more. Generally speaking, these are all things you’re likely to get, but you’re forced to buy it upfront if you want to get in on the action. Of course, that’s a lot of money to throw away all at once, so it’s worth being prepared.

PS5 bundles will be available in GameStop stores tomorrow (July 23) for Pro members https://t.co/Je2VWytLnt

If the frequency of these store restocks is anything to go by, potential PS5 owners may be able to look forward to the holiday season. The fact that GameStop is able to stock so many stores with consoles for a brief period and restock them as soon as a week later may show that Sony is ramping up production for the impending holiday season. With huge releases like God of War Ragnarok around the corner, it will be important for the platform holder.
