The Sims 4 Glitch Website Apparently Reveals Upcoming DLC
An apparent glitch on the official Sims 4 site has seemingly revealed undisclosed downloadable content, sparking speculation of an imminent announcement.
An apparent bug on The Sims 4 The website has apparently revealed unannounced DLC for the game, leading fans to speculate what might come next.
Reddit user jj3171 posted a screenshot of the issue on a dedicated site The Sims 4 subreddit. The image shows a blank space in the middle of the page with an image apparently missing, although a title indicates that it should be from The Sims 4: Desert Deluxe Kit. Clicking on the image, jj3171 said it took them to a 404 error page and also provided a screenshot of it.
The last two DLC drops from The Sims 4 was leaked prior to release, apparently due to errors on one of the game’s official websites. The Sims 4: Werewolves Game Pack leaked a day before its official announcement, cover image and all, due to German site EA uploading the game page earlier than expected. Likewise, the only Expansion Pack of the year, The Sims 4: High School Yearsleaked long before developer EA’s reveal, appearing on various sites as upcoming DLC almost as soon as werewolves spear.
Despite the leaks, recent additions to The Sims 4 garnered considerably positive feedback from fans, which the franchise has lacked in recent years due to frustration over reliance on EA’s mini DLC. Many add-ons in recent years have received lackluster reviews, with many complaining that the franchise cared more about making as much money as possible by splitting DLC into multiple purchases that should appear together in a single expansion pack. Both werewolves and High school years launched to positive reviews, bringing aspects to the title that many fans had been asking for since the base game released in 2014.
With the DLCs, The Sims 4 has received positive reception for its growing push for inclusivity. A recent update allowed players to assign non-binary pronouns to Sims, or even create unique ones. To couple this, EA released a customizable sexual and romantic orientation alongside the launch of High school years as an update to the base game, allowing players to assign such preferences to their Sims for the first time. While the latest updates have garnered praise, they weren’t without complications; Shortly after launch, players reported a troubling issue that caused Sims to experience attraction to family members, as well as drastically accelerated aging. The Sims 4 released a patch to fix the issues shortly after.
There is no release window or confirmation of The Sims 4: Desert Deluxe Kit. However, players can enjoy The Sims 4 and its DLC released on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
